OU INC connects with engineering talent through senior design
Feb. 06, 2017

Through OU INC’s Academic Integration Program, Berylline, Corp. and Wave Water Works, Inc. have engaged with SECS senior design lab to test and evaluate two unique technology projects for the winter semester.

OU INC connects clients with the senior design lab as a part of its Academic Integration Program. One of the services to startup and growth stage businesses is that OU INC connects businesses with students in order to provide experiential learning opportunities.

“One of the key values we provide to our clients is connecting and linking them with the talent in the university,” said Amy Butler, the Executive Director of OU INC. “This is a win-win opportunity to both the business and the students. You can see the excitement, innovation and mentoring in the way the principal and the students interface throughout the semester.”

Berylline is working with the students to install and test a new fuel injection system on their 3- wheeled hybrid scooter. Berylline is a small company in the OU INC business incubator, developing a 3-wheeled hybrid scooter to be used as secondary, short-range transportation. The Berylline hybrid system features a boost electric motor to improve both starting and hill climbing performance while enhancing fuel economy.

“This is a great opportunity for our company to let our presence be known throughout the community,” said Dennis Dresser, president of Berylline Corp. “Being able to work with students is a great way to spark innovation among young adults as well as provide them a real world opportunity in their field which can benefit them later on.”
